Sounds great, but why, why, why did they have to mess up the original cover artwork?? Always felt that Spine Of God was a strong release on the count that it shows the bands apparent influences of artists that came way before them,like Hawkwind,MC 5,Blue Cheer,Hendrix and the Stooges. Pressing is ultra quiet.

There's so much more air, separation and clarity on the instruments compared to the first press. Sounds awesome obviously, but I’m shocked that there aren’t any reviews here complaining about the artwork. Spine of God and Monster Magnet as a whole is what a comic would be if it was interpreted into music.

Remastered aber nah dran am original Sound auf Glitterhouse. Spine of God is everything I would have expected from the torch bearers of stoner metal...sonic, raw, trippy, atmospheric, heavy, chaotic. This shopping feature will continue to load items when the Enter key is pressed. I first bought a copy of this mother in the mid 90s and it was damned difficult to find then. Monster Magnet's first full length - absolutely essential listening from start to finish.
I have heard from Monster Magnet many years ago and have never had a chance to give them a try on any of their full albums before, I recently bought one and it was love at the first sight. Yeah, the artwork should never be retouched. その界隈では神盤の一つに数えられる、鬼才Dave Wyndorf率いる米国のPSYCHEDERIC/STONERバンドによる92年発の1stフル。のっけからシュンシュンと左右にふれるスペーシーなエフェクト音に攪拌される"Pill Shovel"を皮切りに、泥沼のような酩酊と過激な覚醒とが山を成し飛び込んで来る。SLEEPやKYUSSともタメを張るそのめくるめくリフ捌きやトリッピィな反復模様のウマさは当然として、加えてこのMONSTER MAGNETの楽曲には、誤解を恐れずに言うと非常にアーティスティックな華やぎがあるように思う。呻いたかと思えばセンチメンタルに落としてもみせるWyndorfのヴォーカルはじめ、全編に渡って広い振れ幅（しかし全景のカラーは見事に統一されている！）をみせる楽曲群がなんとも魅力的。引き攣れたような"声"から音場が爆発するタイトルトラック"Spine of God"では大好きなWARLOCKSのソレと同種の興奮を味わい、それこそ往年のSFAも真っ青の一大ストレンジ・ポップ・ロックを展開するラスト"Ozium"に至るまで、一連の波上に乗せ尋常でない昂ぶりを引きずり出す。およそ15年以上も昔の作品だなんて思いもよらない、果てることなくその魅力を湧出し続ける名盤。
Graphic, highly exaggerated and over the top fun. I like to draw comic book line art. Monster Magnet is one of the rare bands that have melded these elements together to form a sound all their own, and Spine of God is the perfect genesis of this sound. Hook It Up, dude, because it purely does not get more outrageous than SOG.
