You'll swear there are five other guitarists behind stage, but it's all the guitar mastery of Pike.While their stage presence is stationary, their music will literally crush you with sound.

The trio has been performing together since the late 90s and they have seen venues large and small with equally varied crowds and they know how to handle them all. Overall Rating.
There are huge building instrumentals on 'Madness of An Architect' and during this the audience goes completely mental as they all surge towards the barrier and towards the insane guitar riffs of Pike. There will always be some amazing prints and posters and of course their albums on both CD and vinyl.Most shows run around $20 a ticket if High On Fire is the headliner.
This year also saw the band opening for Metallica for several of their shows in Europe. If there were any actual riffs or melodies, they where indecipherable. Jinjer.
Don't expect them to sell out arenas but do take every chance you can get to see this amazing and iconic band live.Californian heavy metal band High On Fire have a global reputation as masters of the genre and an overall extreme live performance. However the large auditoriums also look phenomenal when they are plunged into blood red lighting and hundreds of patrons all begin to jump and raise their hands during the bloody introduction of 'Fury Whip'.The music and performance is completely relentless all night and carries itself with a noticeable weight pushing down on its crowd. High On Fire is a band with lasting power musically and historically speaking. The group toured extensively through 2007 and 2008 in support of this album and played alongside artists like Mono, Panthers, Opeth, Baroness, and Nachtmystium. High On Fire. The song “Hung, Drawn and Quartered” was used to promote the LPs release and was included on a 7” split with Mastodon’s “March of the Fire Ants”. As 'Snakes For the Divine' comes to a crunching halt and the whole venue explodes in cheers you understand why High On Fire carry such a huge reputation.We went strictly to see High On Fire.

Though their 1st album received high acclaim “Surrounded by Thieves” was considered a drastic improvement and is often recognized as one of the best metal albums of 2002. Matt Pike, the band's frontman and founder, also plays guitar for the doom metal band Sleep. Next time I'll make sure not to watch them in Munich. Vltimas. World class. Their 6th studio album “De Vermis Mysteriis” came out on 3 April 2012. It is a juxtaposition as the smaller and more intimate audiences are more intense as Matt Pike and co can get up close and personal with the moshing masses.
High On Fire. Bassist George Rice left the band after it’s release and was later replaced by ex-Melvin’s member Joe Preston.Preston only appeared on the band’s 3rd album “Blessed Black Wings” before being replaced by Jeff Matz. On Firer.
