They had one healthy child and one deformed child and the father chose not to treat the deformed child and to let it die. And at the end, Maria is no longer present or trying to hold her back, shame her, etc. Ending is heavily symboli or what? I remember a movie once where Merlin told a friend that looking in the future is like eating a biscuit. A mix of believable characters and relationships, very well acted. 2:34. Like "That would never really happen that way" and made me cringe and shake my head. It was certainly interesting, and I understand that a story has to have some kind of direction and attempt to be confident. For some reason, i thought it may be some kind of Lifetime movie type deal, i was soooo wrong. Less would have been much more. I am reminded of a movie called The Broken (2008) which featured doppelgängers, and another called Cruel Intentions (1999), which featured, well, teen cruelty. I caught this on Showtime with time to kill and my expectations were low, but wow, nice surprise. The movie continuosly hints toward Maria being born with some kind of malformity that we do not get to see. Perhaps this was intentional on the part of the writers. I was kinda clueless if there were actually two entities or if it was all in her head . I enjoyed the film, preferred the acting of Airam over Maria, (I know it's the same actress), the ending was confusing, my take is that Maria is also hugging her mother from the mirror world.
