This is for the exhisting Weezer fan only, casual listeners will have no need to return to this after a couple of spins.....what am I on about anyway.....no one is coming to this album as a first time Weezer buyer surely?
The most comical cover is Weezer's take on TLC's No Scrubs, which fashions Rivers Cuomo as an unimpressed target of slacker suitors. :) El disco lo pasé a otras personas para que también pudieran disfrutarlo pero no me arrepiento de la compra, vale la pena. Most of the covers here are pretty fun, and some are quite good -- particularly ELO's Mr. Blue Sky, A-ha's Take on Me (a song that is covered too much, in my opinion) and Tears for Fears' Everybody Wants to Rule the World. Now I know and I'm exploring their original music. Ordered this on a whim as I was intrigued on how the covers would be done. For someone looking for a more artful cover along the lines of Weezer's Velouria cover (Pixies), uh, not sure what to tell ya -- this might not be for you. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. Weezer's cover of Toto's Africa is ubiquitous by now, so it's little surprise they fleshed out this novelty into a full-length album to give that cover a proper album release. After hearing Weezer's versions of Africa, Rosanna, Paranoid Android, and Brain Stew I thought it would be a great idea for them to do a cover album. A set of fun cover versions from Weezer, from the cheese of Toto's Africa and A Ha's Take On Me to Black Sabbath's Paranoid.
