I think it's more accurate to say that they are all much, much better than regular tiles, unless you build the regular tiles out of abyssalite.

Is this true? Double igneous rock insulation tiles? It seems like a bunch of magma turns into igneous rocks as items and then on reload turn into solid tiles that just shoot up. It is based on log avarage of thermal conductivity of both elements.

In my game (cosmic upgrade) insulated igneous tiles transmit more heat between liquid tungsten and liquid hydrogen than regular abyssalite tiles. I didn't have any debris around, but it was right above the automated mechanized airlocks that were working as the thermal coupler. Probably the more sophisticated would be to store all your igneous rock inside a room not accessible or rather semi accessible by dupes. Insulated ceramic tiles are good enough for most applications if you want to save some abyssalite. Sometimes what can happen is if you have magma (or other liquid) that gets forced out of a space it can end up a tile or 2 further away, then it can cool to rock. So even if abyssalite has conductivity close to zero then still the other element matters and if its conductivity is high than you will have a heat transfer occuring. I picked the gold one because both gold and ice has high conductivity. Even insulated igneous rock tiles are better than standard abyssalite.

In case of normal tiles it is never zero. I've had gold next to ice with 0 increase in temperature of the ice.
